LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the most widely used green building rating system worldwide. Available for virtually all building types, LEED provides a framework for healthy, efficient, and cost-saving green buildings.

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a Washington, DC-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to a prosperous and sustainable future for our nation through cost-efficient and energy-saving green buildings.

Their sewing unit KDS IDR LTD has awarded a LEED Platinum certificate on 1st February 2023. They have achieved 84 out of 100 credit benchmarks. The 283,000 sq ft building has an excellent work environment. The factory is neat and clean. They have an incineration boiler, biogas plant, SRI paint on the rooftop, rainwater harvesting system, and many more. 

Till today 187 buildings are LEED certified in Bangladesh. Among those, 109 projects are LEED Gold certified. And 58 projects are LEED Platinum Certified. 15 Projects got LEED Silver, and four buildings are just certified (40-49).
